You may recall we wrote recently that our very own Andy Williamson will be taking to the start line ahead of the London Marathon on 28th April. He’ll be raising money for Chilterns MS Centre.
Ahead of him lays 26.2miles running the streets of the capital, passing some iconic landmarks and taking in the views that makes this event a must on many runner’s bucket lists.
To ensure Andy can relish the Marathon, months of training has to take place in all weathers. Sacrifices must be made; they’ll be a time to indulge in his favourite biscuits! Building up stamina and road-running technique is essential now. In February, Andy ran over 110 training miles.
In that period, the longest run so far was 18 miles and recently completed two half marathons in three days. Tending to run first thing in the morning, when body and mind are its freshest, Andy’s seen the days get longer – Spring and Summer are on the way. Andy anticipates the next 6 weeks being the toughest as he stretches the longer runs up to just over 20 miles on each training run.
Currently, Andy has raised just under £600 for Chilterns MS Centre. The aim is to raise £2000 for the Centre. You can donate to Andy’s cause here.
By day, Andy is a Sales Negotiator in our Aylesbury branch – helping buyers and sellers with their property requirements. Why not call him to organise your free, no obligation market appraisal of your property. You can call him on 01296 433666.
